Akame ga Kill!

Akame ga Kill! exceeded my expectations in many ways. While the beginning and much of the plot felt somewhat predictable, following familiar anime tropes, the way the characters developed and how the story unfolded turned it into a captivating 24-episode experience. The anime’s dark and brutal themes, centered on the grim responsibilities of assassins, are deeply engaging. Equally compelling is how different characters cope with the deaths that surround them.

In my view, Akame ga Kill! suffers from being a bit rushed. The pacing doesn’t allow enough time for proper character development, and while each death is emotionally charged, the anime would have benefitted from a second or even third season. This would have given more depth to the characters and amplified the emotional weight the series seeks to convey.

Visually, Akame ga Kill! is stunning, with fight scenes that impress from start to finish. Despite the rushed nature of the story, the ending felt fitting, leaving a bittersweet impression that stays with you.
